About Our Name
Hudson & Charles reflects personal connection, foundational experiences, and a shared vision. The name represents the prominent rivers, the Hudson and the Charles, that run through New York City and Boston, respectively.
Zach and Adam first met and formed their friendship in New York City. In neighboring cubicles at The Carlyle Group, they learned the fundamentals of how to identify a great company and enhance its value. Zach and Adam spent many late nights in the office contemplating building something of their own as business partners. While in New York, they both lived in the West Village neighborhood, commuting via Hudson St. and Charles St. daily.
Fast forward a few years, Zach and Adam purchased their inaugural business, a B2B services franchise, just north of Boston. As day-to-day operators, Zach and Adam experienced first-hand the dedication, patience, and joy involved in being an owner-operator. They have since established their roots in the Boston area.
Hudson & Charles also represents building on the entrepreneurial roots within each of their families. Zach’s inspiration is his father, a 35+ year founder-owner-operator of a services business in his home state of California. Adam’s inspiration is his grandfather, a serial entrepreneur of home services businesses in Ohio following his service in WWII. These role models, among many others, taught Zach and Adam how entrepreneurship can be a strong vehicle to serve the community, create fulfilling jobs, form strong relationships, and provide for their families.
